Equal Time

There is never enough time. There are not enough hours in a day. My days are so full and not enough time to do it all.

I have a stack of books beside my bed that soon will make a nice step ladder. I have so many hours on my Tivo, I don't think I can ever catch up. My phone lets me know that there are calls to be made. "You've Go Mail" flashes on my computer screen. I have cards to send out, money to repay. There are baskets of work to do all over my classroom. Laundry is sky high. Junk to organize. People to visit with. My lists are so long. I want to do it all.

As my lists get longer and longer I start to ask God questions. What made you God give us only 24 hours in a day? Yes, I am sure there is a scientific reason for that answer but couldn't it have been 32 hours? Here is my thinking, I want equal time. I want the same amount of time to sleep, work and play. I want 8 hours to sleep, 8 hours to work, and 8 hours to play. That way I don't feel cheated with time. Right now I get 6 hours of sleep, 10 hours of work, 8 hours of play. Not sure about that 8 hours of play. I think I need to define 'work' and 'play'. That 10 hours is paying work. I need to add 'house/life' work to that time. Let's reevaluate. 6 hours of sleep, 13 hours of work, and 5 hours of play.

I want equal time! I want more time to have fun! Less work, MORE play!!!

You are my hero again. Love this entry. So glad you're back and blogging again...even if there is so little time and blogs do seem high maintenance. My little book of blogging ideas that goes along with me in my purse is just filled with ideas, but there's no time to write them all down. I need your 32 hour day too.

Sunny...32 hours would be perfect! Your list sounds just like mine. I've been the procrastinating QUEEN this week, and I have a nasty house to show for it and a pile of papers on my desk at work. I just have no desire to pick up, wash up, or look at it at all! Oh well, I guess I'll face the house tomorrow and the pile of papers on Monday....boo, hiss!!

I am glad you girls like this entry. I was actually going to post a new entry today that said, BORING for the this one. I went to bed feeling that it wasnt' good. But atleast you read it. HA!

I love this post!!! It's not boring at all. I'm totally into equal time. :) You know what you made me think about though? If I have 5 hoursish of play time, then I'm not spending it very well. I spend WAY too much play time thinking and worrying, and stressing about my work time. THAT SUCKS!!! That has to change. I want to be doing some serious playing when it's play time. :)

Okay, this comment is a rewrite. On the first comment I left here, I forgot to type the funky letters in. Then I clicked to comment on your next post and lost this comment that I left. So dumb. :)

HA Monica I lost my commment too. I got too hasty! What I said was I do the same with my playtime. I don't use it well some days because I think too much. I also fill it with work related things like grading papers. That is no fun! let's try this again.
