Mastercard Commercial

Snaps found this today. Grumps and I watched it twice and couldn't stop laughing about it. I just had to pass it on.

8th Grade Math SUCKS!

Okay it didn't suck that bad since I actually passed this test but man it was hard. Way too hard for my brain on a Saturday. Thanks NWG for this challenge. I just had to see if I could do it. When I saw the problems I just knew I would flunk.

You Passed 8th Grade Math

Congratulations, you got 7/10 correct!

NOTHING

I seriously have nothing to blog about. I looked through my drafts and everything is beyond stupid. I am not in the mood for a meme right now. It is just too early. But maybe later on today.
I bought a little notebook this week that I have now named My Brain. Yesterday while I was at the dentist I made my list for my karaoke party. I guess I haven't told you guys about that. I am having a karaoke party on Friday. I will provide the drinks and party fun while everyone brings a finger food to share. It is the food part that always stresses me out. I love my food that I make but I just work too hard on it.

I was going to have two karaoke stations so that no one hogged it but then I decided everyone will just want to be together. I also want opportunity for prizes. Like the King and Queen of Karaoke. The best... The worst... This is where you come it in. Help me think of some funny Bests and Worsts or whatever. My brain is mush and really can't put it to use very much right now. :)

Yes, this is totally my walk. I like to sass and walk with my hands flopping to and fro. I like to walk leading with my chest. Okay I can't help that one but...

WHO WALKS LIKE THIS?

*This has been listed as DRAFT for forever! I guess it is time to pull it out of the vault! It has been one of those days.

Lunchboxes

Because I am a teacher I am constantly on the search for the perfect lunchbox that my kids would just love and I still could look cool with.

Last year I got a cute lady bug lunchbox. I wanted something more kid like but they didn't have anything that was me. I wanted a Strawberry Shortcake lunchbox like when I was a kid.

I just found a GREAT website that has my lunchbox. I couldn't believe that they actually had the metal Strawberry Shortcake lunchbox that I hit a big kid on the head in the very back of the bus. (He was being mean and I just couldn't have any of it!)

I decided that I had to have this lunchbox. I began to go through the process to purchase it. $12.95 wasn't all that much. BUT when it came down to the final total, I just couldn't go through with it. $20 is just a little too much for a lunchbox. Shipping ended up being $8. WHATEVER!!! So now I am back to square one on the lunchbox search.

Has anyone seen any cool ones recently? What was your lunchbox as a kid?

Summer Reading

I have been thinking long and hard how can I get back into the blogging world. My Journeys Blog is coming along just fine, but there is not much on this end of the world.

BUT I was scrolling down my blog and realized that my stack of books has changed a bit. I actually did some reading this summer and can remove some of those books. They have either been returned to their owners or placed up on the shelf. They are no longer piled up beside my bed.

This book took me FOREVER to read. I complained through the entire book. the devil wears prada was painful. If felt like I was working my way through The Nanny's Diary all over again, which I never did finish. I have to say that once I got to the end, yes I couldn't stop reading it either, I was pleased.

After many months I finally finished The Broker. It was a good read. It was also a slow read. I stopped reading it at one point in the middle of the book because a better book came along. If you are a John Grisham reader you should read this book. If he annoys you at times, skip this one.

A friend gave me a book to read this summer. She said that it is an awful story but very funny. I took her up on it and plowed my through a book that made me want to take a shower. Running With Scissors isn't a book for the light at heart. It deals with many awful things in detail BUT from a young boy's perspective. It was a great read but I felt very dirty when I was done. The book is now going to be a movie. I will have to watch and see just what they do with it.

Many years ago I watched a movie on TBS, Flowers in the Attic. It disturbed me to no end. I couldn't stop thinking about it. I shared it with Grumps and he was just as disturbed. BUT I always wanted to read the book. I would see it at the library but be too scared to actually check it out. One day while at D's house I spotted the book on her book shelf. I told her about watching the movie. She said that it was a must read. So I took it home. This summer while at the beach I decided to pick it up and read it. It went quickly. I was still disturbed but definitely say that it is a must read for all. D says that I now need to work my way through the series. I think I need to give myself a little separation time.

Finally the last book I read was Memoirs of a Geisha. I was a little afraid of this book. It looked a little boring and long. I was so wrong on all levels. I couldn't put this book down. I couldn't stop thinking about this book when I did have to put it down. It was an amazing read. The author did an amazing job writing the book from a woman's prospective. It was as if you were sitting in her presence as she talked to you. This was my favorite of my summer books. I know I will be super disappointed when I now watch the movie.

So there you have it, my summer reads and recommendations. I have will be adding a few to my list now. I am currently reading Angels and Demons. It is quite a jumpy read so far or it could just be me right now.

Angel in Heaven

I usually don't put heavy things on this blog. This blog is a place to laugh at my life and others. But it seems that our life has taken a turn.

I hope to be back here full of something new soon.
